  6. This object is the Cylon BaseStar from the universe of the live/model
  7. action TV show BATTLESTAR GALACTICA (late 1970s).  It is based upon a
  8. Monogram model; BATTLESTAR GALACTICA is (tm) Universal City Studios, Inc..
  9.  
  10. BaseStars were enormous, and carried swarms of Raider attack fighters, which
  11. were launched from short catapults found in the radial slots of the design.
  12. They also had multiple defensive turrets on the inner surfaces of both upper
  13. and lower hulls.  (Like all the BATTLESTAR GALACTICA ships, the BaseStar had
  14. a wealth of surface detail and "weathering" not included in this object.)

  16. Scale of this object is uncertain, but BaseStars were very large - not in
  17. the STAR WARS "Death Star" class, but perhaps in the STAR TREK "Star Base"
  18. range.

  20. NOTE TO PRE-IMAGINE 2.0 USERS:  This object can be successfully used in
  21. Imagine 1.1 or 1.0, but it makes extensive use of the "hard" and "soft" line
  22. feature of 2.0 which is not supported in previous versions.  This makes the
  23. rendered object look puffy and melted due to Phong shading where not
  24. intended.
